Creating speculative encounters through art, life science, and astrobiology
Art × Astrobiology • Micro to Cosmic
My work has crystallised into an art–science field, working with microbiology and centred on astrobiology. As a lens, astrobiology allows me to explore ontological and epistemological questions across scales—macroscopic and microscopic, inward and outward, past and future.
I investigate contact and non-contact, kinship with otherness, and the non-binary threshold between the living and the non-living. I am interested in moving beyond a mindset of utility toward processes of shared formation, acknowledging the agency of matter and our entanglement within wider systems of existence.
Core Research Trajectories
2024–2025 BioQuantum Record: Chiral Handshakes Between Terrestrial Extremophiles and Their Extra-terrestrial Counterparts.
A speculative art-science inquiry proposing microbial-mineral “arkships” as vessels for interstellar life narratives.
Collaboration with CNRS-CBM (Centre Biophysique Moléculaire) Orléans (FR)
2023–2024 Performing Beyond the Human: Investigating the Intersection of Halobacterium salinarum and Human Performers in Multispecies Assemblages. Live Art in the Anthropocene.
A live art investigation staging the encounter between human performers and halophilic archaea, probing the aesthetic and ethical dimensions of becoming-with another species.
Collaboration with the German Archaea Centre, Department Microbiology University of Regensburg (DE)
